Dr. Venkman & Iceman run 6 miles for Sport Relief

After a slow start to the year, I have finally doubled my achievement count to an almighty 2 out of 101… and my god did I do it in style!

Last Sunday I joined thousands of people across the UK raise funds to help people living unimaginably tough lives as I took park in the Sport Relief London Mile dressed as one of my all time favourite childhood icons, leader of the almighty Ghostbusters, Dr. Venkman.

Joining me on the run was Mr James Houseman, my housemate who I had suckered into taking part and since he didn’t know who Venkman was, donned his Iceman outfit from TopGun… he was living the dream!

Looks from tourists and commuters seemed to subside the closer we got to the Mall as they released we weren’t a new age YMCA but in fact, bonkers enough to try and tackle 6 miles in glorious sunshine dressed in jump suits and wearing ridiculous props!

It soon became apparent that we were among the few in fancy dress who were doing the full 6 miles, but being my first proper run and in the name of charity and good will, our determination kicked in and we went pedal to the metal.

Did we complete it? That’s a silly question, 6 miles isn’t really that far when you think about it, but what was impressive was our time.. 44 minutes 40 seconds.. which for what is effectively a 10k, in a large crowd, in fancy dress… is pretty impressive.

A BIG thank you to everyone who has donated so far, we have raised £165.00 which is great! If you would like to donate you still can at: http://my.sportrelief.com/sponsor/ghostbusters

#95 Run in fancy dress for Charity – COMPLETE!

So what is next on the list? Secret Cinema? Paris? Dans Le Noir? All of the above of course.. stay tuned for my next adventure
