#68 Photograph a Paralympic Games (officially) – COMPLETE

You will notice that this item has changed from being the Olympics to the Paralympics – this item had been on my list way before I had joined the British Olympic Association to manage the Digital & Social Media strategy for Team GB at London 2012 and so, once I had joined, I thought it would be a given that I would be able to tick this one off.

Alas, I was a very busy man during the Olympics, with multiple teams to manage, a series of social networks and digital platforms, along with over 1.6 million fans to entertain online – I had no time to be able to photograph the Olympics, not properly anyhow.

I had; however, asked the kind folk over at the British Paralympic Association if I could gain photography accreditation for the London 2012 Paralympic Games – which they generously granted me.

If you have followed my twitter feed recently, you will noticed I have had a summer I shall never forget and being able to photography the Paralympic Games was just the icing on the cake.

I hadn’t really watched Paralympic sports before, let along photographed it – however it wasn’t so much being able to photograph the event that left me rubbing my eyes in disbelief but more the sheer talent, dedication and pure brilliance of these athletes. They really are, Super Human.

So before I send you into a written coma, I will leave you with a few of my favorite images from the games. Should you wish to see the whole collection, you can do here on flickr

Enjoy
